Paddler’s Night at the Museum at 6:00pm on November 9, 2019 at Black Dome Mountain Sports, 140 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC.
Doug Woodward will make a 30-minute slide presentation with a glimpse of paddling as it was in the ’60s and ’70s, including a look at the filming of Deliverance, introducing Jimmy Carter to the Chattooga River and, as a tribute to the Kennedy Family, a look at their climbing and paddling activity before NOC even existed and before Payson had a beard! What a dashing young couple that Aurelia and Payson were!
As a bonus feature, the video The Important Places will be shown and Doug’s son Forest, who created this nine-minute award-winning documentary, will likely be on hand to answer questions.
Plus, there will be a taco truck on-site for food.
